ABOUT BATA

The T&A Bata Shoe Company was established by siblings Tomas, Anna and Antonin Bata - the eighth generation of Bata family shoemakers - in the rural town of Zin, Czechoslovakia. They were innovators from the start, replacing the traditional one-man workshop with a 10-person (soon to be 50) enterprise.

Today Bata globally serves a million customers each day with a business model based on quality and accessibility for all. From environmentally conscious shoes to high tech heels, Batas strategic innovation and production is lead by a diverse group of real people.

From its simple start almost 120 years ago, Bata has grown into a trusted global company that offers fashionable and affordable footwear to every member of the family. Bata offers you a vision of style and fashion to reflect your own image, created for you as well as with you.

Bata New Zealand was formed in 1948 with the first factory opening at Owhiro Bay, Wellington.
